It's easy to learn, once heard not easily forgotten, funny yet serious, lighthearted yet touching: a parable of our times and for ourtimes.

The chorus of 'Jake And The Juveniles' would have a very good chance of winning the annual Doveton Talent Contest if only they could get Jake out of bed in the morning. But even when they do, down at the shelter wherethey rehearse, they are met by the demolition men and then the blank face of bureaucracy.

Although they are close to despair, this is where, with his unexpected arrival on the scene, the Right Genie comes in veryhandy.But,instrumental though the genie is in pushing for the rights of our hero and the Juveniles, he also encourages Jake to look beyond his own immediate problems, however important they may seem, to a world where children havemore pressing needs than his.
