August Förster
August Förster pianos, based in the South East of Germany, has a rich heritage of producing hand made artisan instruments. These instruments are produced by a dedicated team of around 30 craftsmen in the same way pianos were made 100 years ago. Sadly August Forster do not have the recognition that their current instruments deserve as they found themselves, after the war, cut off from good quality materials and Nationalised in East Germany. As a result their instruments from this period really did suffer in quality. However since the falling of the wall Frau Forster has steadily invested and has now recreated the quality of instruments they made before the war. In their workshops you will find no MDF or modern CNC machines but you will find extreme attention to detail in terms of materials and workmanship. Come and experience these unique instruments for yourself.
