Novello

Publisher

Vincent Novello founded Novello & Company in 1811 to publish his own church music, but it was his son, Joseph Alfred Novello, who transformed it into a leading publishing house. Specializing in affordable choral music, Novello & Company gained prominence by offering the English-speaking world editions of works by Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mendelssohn, and others. Over the years, it has expanded to include educational materials and compositions by notable 20th-century composers. After acquiring Elkin & Co and Paterson’s Publications, which added composers like Malcolm Arnold to their roster, Novello joined the Wise Music Group in 1993 and continues to be a prominent publisher of choral music and advocate for new works.
