This book is designed to prepare the aspiring jazz guitarist to arrange and improvise in a jazz style. Playing by ear is stressed from the very first exercise. You will learn 12-bar blues, 8-bar blues, and standards, as well as how to create fill-ins, improvise, develop ideas, play comping chords, develop a walking bass line, and more. Scales, chords, and arpeggios for the development of technical skills, ear training and fingerboard knowledge cover the niter fingerboard, and in all keys. You will learn how to develop a tune in a logical manner form the basic tune to a full-blown performance arrangement. In notation and tablature.The companion online recording contains all of thesolos in the book (but not the etudes). The tracks are split with solo on the right channel and accompaniment on the left, and the count is given so that you can play along.
