Hermann Schroeder (1904-84) is one of the leading German organ composers of the 20th century. "Music for Organ" was written in 1984 and explores the possibilities of tonality: the three movements are written in different keys, namely five-, seven- and twelve-tone systems (pentatonic, heptatonic and twelve-tone melody). However, the music always relates to a tonal centre, and the contrasting keys add to its special appeal. A great piece for concerts and competitions.
