First performed by John Turner and the Northern Chamber Orchestra in 2000, the Concertino’s 3 movements are of classical construction, and designed to highlight the recorder’s decorative qualities. The two waltz-like tunes in the 2nd movement are taken from Lyon’s musical Albert’s Bridge, while Promenade is a set of variations on a melody which began life as a TV theme tune.
