The Jupiter Waveline flute is characterized by an o-bow headjoint, courtesy of the original WAVELINE patent. This approach allows for a significantly shorter flute body whose headjoint and keys nevertheless remain in line and thus alleviates problems of balance that some teachers experience when teaching young children using a curved headjoint. The Waveline technology brings the weight of the flute down through the instrument rather than on top of or out to the side promoting better posture and improved embouchure development from the very start of the learning process. The distance between the embouchure hole and the keys is reduced, creating a better alignment through the whole of the flute and allowing for easier tone production. Above all, the Waveline aids a seamless transition to a standard concert flute.
The flute is designed with features to give children the very best possible start. The engraved markings on the Waveline headjoint and barrel of the flute body allow for easy assembly of the flute in the correct position. This flute also comes with an extension kit for when children are ready to move on to a standard straight headjoint; this includes an extension barrel, a straight silver-plated headjoint with .925 solid riser and an ABS case for the flute with a shoulder bag.
