Simon Ark 000/ Leadbelly Style, Super Parlour (second hand c2014))

A faithful reproduction of a Stella style acoustic guitar, which garnered much popularity amongst folk and blues musicians across the United States in the dustbowl era, most prominently with Huddie Ledbetter, better known as Leadbelly.

This instrument is ladder braced, which was the de rigueur method of acoustic construction during the period. As a consequence the instrument certainly has a more pronounced treble response, and tends to have a clear and bright sonic profile.

Simon Ark is an established Manchester based Luthier who regularly features his instruments in the shop. His construction tends to be based around predominantly pre-war instruments, but with modern care, duress and technique.
