Atkin 000-14 Dust Bowl Acoustic Guitar
Catalogue No: igATK-Dustbowl00014
New from Atkin (so new there's no description for it yet), this guitar is based off the classic Dustbowl guitars of the 20s and 30s. An all solid Mahogany guitar with a torrefied top and pre war scalloped bracing, the guitar also features a period correct ebony nut and an Indian Rosewood fretboard and bridge. With the classic Atkin lacquer finish, this is one of our current faves in the shop.
What they say
Our Dust Bowl Series is inspired by some of the depression era guitars of the 1930’s. A lightweight all-mahogany body construction, scalloped braces, and soft-V neck carve that hugs your hand. The 16″ radius Indian Rosewood fingerboard with rounded-over edges makes ‘thumb-overtop’ playing easy and comfortable.
These Dust Bowl guitars have a full, rich and dry voice with enough of a push in the midrange to inspire any ragtime picker, while still giving plenty of warmth and openness across the strings to keep any player happy. It offers that ‘piano-like’ cavernous articulation in the bass end, and a sweet and well-rounded treble.
