Marianne Huang Yueyin
Piano Teacher beginner to advanced

Marianne Huang Yueyin is a second-year postgraduate student at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), studying the piano with Graham Scott, having previously done her undergraduate studies at the Royal College of Music (RCM) with Leon McCawley and Gordon Fergus-Thompson. She is grateful for the support of scholarships during her time in both colleges. Currently, she is supported by the Helen Rachael Mackaness Charitable Trust and the Margaret Allen Piano Award for her studies at the RNCM.

Marianne is an avid performer and keen chamber musician. A memorable experience was performing Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, Op. 45, together with the RNCM Concert Orchestra, conducted by Sir Mark Elder in 2022. In collaboration with several singers, she also performed on the fortepiano as part of the Smallwood Masterclass Series 2023, conducted by David Owen Norris. For the year 2023-24, she was selected to be a member of the RNCM Songsters.

She has performed multiple times at the Emmanuel Church, Didsbury; Holy Innocents Church; and also at the Victoria Concert Hall atrium in Singapore as part of the Light to Night Festival 2023. Her upcoming performances include a short solo recital at the King’s Hall, Ilkley; and another recital with a fellow cellist at Christ Church Southport.

In 2020, Marianne won the First Prize in the 3rd Hong Kong Pacific Piano Open Competition. During her first year of postgraduate studies, she won the RNCM Chopin Prize 2023.
