Bateman, Don - Suite for Chloë

Suite for Chloë is a 4 movement suite for beginner clarinet duet. The first clarinet part is about Grade 1 to 2, but the second part, with its chromaticism and long phrases, is intended for a teacher or a more advanced student. There is a strong didactic thread running through the sections of the Suite, with "For Openers" requiring a decisive attack, fanfare style; "Metro Gnomes" demanding articulative skill and metronomic precision; "Smooth Operators" encouraging an efficient legato style, and "Best Foot Forward" stressing rhythmic drive (alla militare).
