Composed in three concise and descriptive movements, this diverse composition opens with Broadcast Memories, recalling some of the sounds of early television program music. Romanceis slow and lyrical and is dedicated to young or first-time lovers. The concluding movement, On the Corner evokes the street corners of big cities, where groups of “doo-wop” singers gather under the streetlightson warm summer evenings to serenade the apartment dwellers.
