Hal Leonard

Publisher

Founded in 1947, Hal Leonard originated from a popular dance band led by Harold "Hal" Edstrom, his brother Everett "Leonard" Edstrom, and their friend Roger Busdicker. Transitioning into publishing, they created a new industry of school band arrangements. With the acquisition of popular song rights, they built a catalog of educational music. Under Keith Mardak's leadership since 1985, Hal Leonard expanded, becoming the world’s largest print music publisher and the leading provider of instructional materials and arrangements for all major instruments and skill levels.
