The album is dedicated to Ailika (being 5 years old in 1982), the eldest daughter of violinist Gidon Kremer. Everybody expected she would also adopt a musical career, however Lika Kremer became a famous movie actress and TV host. Explanation for non-Russians: Homesickness is a re-composition – and re-consideration – of the famous same-named Russian march composed on the eve of the First World War (author unknown). Children’s Disco is based on the popular tune of urban infantile folklore (here jazzed up) about a bluebottle in the rye.
