“Ballade" was composed in 2013 for the 100th anniversary celebration of Li Zhaofu. It was based on Li Zhaofu's song "Two Little Cattle Herders Singing". The music summarizes the tragic story of the second young cattle herder's brave and smart fight against the enemy and his heroic sacrifice in the end.
