Zhang, Zhao - Piano Suite No. 2

Piano Suite No 2 "In Pursuit of a Vanishing Sound" was composed in 2001. The work adopts the styles of the Lisu, A Zhe and Yi minorities’ folk music of western and southern Yunnan. The authenticity of the ancient people is especially precious nowadays with the rapid development of modern civilization. The four movements are exquisite and unique: 1) Remote Rhythm: light dance steps from afar. 2) Sacred Song: a sacred song in praise of the gods of nature. 3) Inebriating String Music: the sound of the strings is filled with bliss. 4) Joyful Dance: the dance in a joyful manner.
