Written as a symphony for unaccompanied voices, George Lynn composed Sacred Symphony No. 1 in four movements (1958), of which Sing unto the Lord a New Song is the 3rd movement. Calling for SATB forces, this work was commissioned by and dedicated to the Harding College A Capella Choir, Kenneth Davis, director.
