Wykoff, John - Anywhere

Modeled after the spirit and purpose—and in homage to—Bach’s keyboard inventions, the Inventions for Choir deal with the five fingers of a pianist’s hand. Each finger receives a different imaginative poem. In Anywhere, the thumb is expressed through a text about journeying to a new place by holding out the thumb on a dusty road. The Inventions for Choir can be performed in any combination or as stand-alone pieces.
