Gane, Peter - Circuit Training Vol. 3

Circuit Training, 3 octets for trombones, are the latest compositions in the Circuit Training Ensemble series. They follow on nicely from the 1st Circuit Training Octet, Five Games and Slide Systems. Riffs for 2 Bass Trombones, the 1st octet, is in a relaxed easy swing style and gives the 2 bass trombones plenty of room to shine. Lazy Yawns, the 2nd octet, is based on the Lazy Yawns study, page 21 of Circuit Training Volume 2. It is dedicated to Chris Houlding who so brilliantly recorded the study in the Air Flow/Chapter 3 complimentary positions Circuit Training CD. Andante and Scherzo, the 3rd octet, starts with a slow and reflective melody which turns into a waltz, and after returning to the opening Andante finishes with the fast 5/4 feel from Natural Swing Study, page 41 of Circuit Training Volume 2.
