Evans, Chris - The Vikings are Coming

I composed two albums, 'The Vikings are Coming' and 'The Sorcerer' with young musicians in mind. The first solo in each album is grade 1 standard, the second, grade 2 and so on. Each piece is fashioned around the technical requirements for each grade, introducing the appropriate new rhythms and key signatures as well as gradually extending range. I hope this music will help to advance students and, more importantly, give much enjoyment. Eye of Odin - Odin sacrificed an eye to gain wisdom and power, so your interpretation should be resolute and steadfast. Song of Fafnir - A big hearted tune that should be performed in a singing manner. Walls of Asgard - A giant laboured day and night to build these great walls. Huge rhythmic blocks of sound are required. Hringhorn Greatest of Ships - I've tried to capture the wonder of this enormous ship. Dragon Shield - A dragon shield conjures up war and dread.
