Philip Cashian's String Quartet No.1.

The String Quartet No. 1 was commissioned by the Bingham Quartet with funds from the Arts Council Dio Award. The first performance was given by them in the Wigmore Hall on 30 June 1988. The first performance of the revised version was given by Melissa Kleibart, Susanne Ebner, Jenny Douglas and Darrett Adkins on 12 August 1990 in the Theatre Concert Hall, Tanglewood.
