2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. This was the occasion for this special publication, which summarises several decades of publishing, artistic and academic work and highlights many composers who were persecuted and ostracised by the European dictatorships of the 20th century. The booklet presents a series of essays on various topics and regions, written especially for the publication by renowned experts. These contributions are supplemented by an annotated catalog covering all musical genres as well as CD and reading recommendations. The result is an informative, up-to-date overall picture that focuses on the various composers, their biographies and their work - a large, diverse musical treasure that still needs to be unearthed in parts and disseminated throughout the world.
