Pro Tools 8 – Advanced Level goes deep into the digital-audio application, providing insights and techniques for using this powerful and amazing software to help you create spectacular music. This program begins witha tutorial that introduces you to how synthesizers work, preparing you to use the new onboard soft synths in Pro Tools® 8. You'll learn how to set up and use ReWire instruments, and you'll get acquainted with each of the newsynths in Pro Tools 8, including the Boom drum module, the DB-33 organ, and the Mini Grand piano. You'll explore Structure Free (a sample player), Xpand2 (a multitimbral virtual synth), and Transfuser (a virutalsynth-workstation). Using sounds from these modules, host Andrew Eisele will build up an arrangement using a variety of tools, such as combining analog and electronic drum tracks, working with loops and groove clips, and using themany onboard audio and MIDI editing tools in Pro Tools 8.
