What we say

The Selmer Series III range was launched in the mid-90s and discontinued in 2021 but is still highly sought after, as it offers a Selmer sax that was more focused and responsive than previous models. The end result is a well-rounded sax with beautiful intonation and tonal clarity.

The Series III Alto Saxophone is part of the “Selmer sound” tradition: open and centred, it offers the musician pure playing pleasure. Perfectly balanced overall tuning and a remarkable upper register, with the double C sharp mechanism, are compelling features of the "Series III". Its acoustic, mechanical and ergonomic qualities make it a first-class instrument.

This particular instrument dates from around 2006 and is in stunning condition. All pads and corks have been checked and everything is working brilliantly.

What they say

The Series III alto is a very accurate model in terms of tuning and emission. It offers a great richness of tone.

Unveiled in 1999, its innovative design, based in particular on a number of small pads designed to reduce the surface welded to the sound tube, has made it possible to free its resonance.

The intonation has been improved, thanks to the system patented by Henri SELMER Paris guaranteeing a perfect ratio between the middle and high C#. Its high register is particularly open and brilliant, giving it a luminous sound which is its own. The geometry of its cone offers a real alternative in terms of accuracy and sound.

The Henri SELMER Paris Series III alto saxophone has become the instrument of choice for technically demanding musicians.
