Offering a suitable amount of air resistance for easy control, the YRS402B features excellent intonation that is often associated with much more expensive models.

To help combat this, Yamaha has produced an environmentally friendly material that sounds similar to ABS resin - Ecodear. Ecodear is the worlds first application of an environmentally friendly plant-based material used in a musical instrument. Manufactured by combining natural polylactic acid with ABS resin, Ecodear offers a mellow and centred tone with improved breath response. Similar to ABS resin recorders, the YRS40B recorder offers a durable build quality while only needing little maintenance. Offering a suitable amount of air resistance for easy control, the YRS402B features excellent intonation that is often associated with much more expensive models.
