An unusual, if somewhat overlooked offering from Yamaha's wide and varied back catalogue!
The SA-50 was originally manufactured in a short production run from the July of 1967 until an unknown date in 1972. A period when Yamaha were certainly in their formative years when it comes to electric guitar manufacture. However, with the SA-50 the company were really starting to hit their stride!
As to be expected from most Semi- Hollow style electrics, the SA-50 is tonally dynamic and versatile instrument, with the Yamaha 'Hum Free' Anisotrophic Ferrite style pickups providing generally a little more in the way of clarity as opposed to Gibson PAF style Humbucker pickups.
