Piano technicians - workshop and on the road

We have a vacancy for a full time piano tuner/technician as well as a part time on the road (within a 50mile radius of Manchester) and would be interested to hear from any competent piano technicians who are interested in joining our team. Forsyths is world renowned as a high quality music shop specialising in acoustic pianos. We have been selling acoustic pianos since we opened in 1857 and have always had our own team of technicians and tuners. We keep in stock a wide range of instruments by makers such as Schimmel, Bosendorfer, August Forster, Ritmuller, Kawai and Yamaha.

Here at Forsyths, we have our own piano workshops where we prepare all our stock instruments (both new and second hand) for sale or hire and restore customers' pianos. We also tune and service customers' pianos over an extensive area in the region - in homes, churches, schools and concert venues.

From time to time we take on apprentices in our workshops, however we are unable to take on complete novices and require that you have studied on a course such as the following:

- The long established 3 year Piano Technology course at Linoln College, Newark https://www.lincolncollege.ac.uk/courses/ba-hons-musical-instrument-craft-piano-tuning-and-restoration-full-time

-Lincoln also offer a 1 year foundation course. Further details: https://enrolments.lincolncollege.ac.uk/webenrolment.aspx?page=~/webcontrols/coursedisplay.ascx&CourseInformationID=15439

- An intensive 12 month course was established by Steve Droy in 2015. This has recently moved to Rugby  http://www.thepianotechnologyschool.com/

If you are interested in working for us in our workshops, and/or on the road as a tuner technician or would like to find out more please email [email protected] or phone 0161 834 3281 and ask for Emma.
