Piano technician - workshop and on the road

We are always interested to hear from competent piano technicians and tuners. Forsyths is world renowned as a high quality music shop specialising in acoustic pianos. We have been selling acoustic pianos since we opened in 1857 and have always had our own team of technicians and tuners. We keep in stock a wide range of instruments by makers such as Schimmel, Bechstein, Bosendorfer, August Forster, Kawai and Yamaha.

Here at Forsyths we have our own piano workshops where we prepare all our stock instruments (both new and second hand) for sale or hire and restore customers pianos. We also tune and service customer's pianos over an extensive area in the region - in homes, churches, schools and concert venues.

From time to time we take on apprentices in our workshops, however we are unable to take on complete novices and require that you have studied on a course such as the following:

- The long established 3 year Piano Technology course at Linoln College, Newark  http://www.lincolncollege.ac.uk/courses/piano-tuning-maintenance-and-repair

- An intensive 12 month course was established in Northampton in 2015. http://www.thepianotechnologyschool.com/

-There is a very highly regarded 12 month (but much more intensive!) course in Canada at Western University, Ontario. Unfortunately due to the course leader retiring in 2015 this course is not currently being offered - but hopefully this situation will change in the future http://www.pianotech.uwo.ca/

If you are interested in working for us in our workshops, or on the road as a tuner technician or would like to find out more please email recruitment@forsyths.co.uk or phone on the number above.
