Hyeonwoo Jeon

Hyeonwoo Jeon (piano) — Bury Parish Church

Hyeonwoo has born on the 21st of August 2003 in Seoul, South Korea. He started to play the piano at the age of 4.
At the age of six, Hyeonwoo’s primary school teacher found his musical talent while hearing Hyeonwoo playing a Korean pop song by ear on the Xylophone. She encouraged him to join the Seoul National University of Education Music Academy. After his successful completion of the course, He had a successful audition for Young Musicians Academy at Konkuk University, Seoul. He had successful auditions every year for the academy, able to have high-quality musical lessons until the age of 13.
While in the academy, he met one of the greatest teachers ‘Jee-Hyun Lee’ who completed courses in Europe, which led him to study abroad in the UK. Because she graduated from Chetham’s School of Music, she introduced him there are Music Festivals for pianists in Chetham’s every summer, so he joined the festival at the age of 15, had fantastic lessons, viewed concerts and met wonderful people. After that year, when he joined the festival again, he suddenly got an opportunity to audition to join Chetham’s, completed successfully.
He became a pupil of Chetham’s school of music at the age of 17. He successfully finished the A-level course and achieving FTCL Diploma at the age of 18 was one of his biggest achievements while in the Chetham’s.  
With the great quality of lessons from Murray McLachlan and wonderful opportunities in the school, he successfully joined the Royal Northern College of Music with a £12,000 scholarship at the same age of 19.
