Saturday 11 January 2025, 6:30 - 7:30 PM - Ardentia Piano Trio

Join the Ardentia Trio and guest violist Emma Farnsworth at Forsyth's for an eclectic program spanning two centuries. The evening features Mendelssohn's dramatic F minor Piano Quartet alongside contemporary works by Cameron Biles-Liddell and Jennifer Higdon's color-inspired Piano Trio. The Ardentia Trio comprises Max Jones-Lachman (violin), Rebekah Clarke (cello) and Nadia Dotsiak (piano). This hour-long performance brings together four RNCM postgraduates in the intimate setting of Manchester's historic music shop.

Friday 24 January, 6:30PM - Memory Leaves: New Music for Piano

Join us for the world premiere of Colin Riley's "Memory Leaves," a collection of 16 intimate piano pieces performed by students from the Royal Northern College of Music under the guidance of Dr. Adam Swayne. Like a musical photo album, these pieces range from minute-long haikus to more expansive movements, each capturing different moods and moments - tender, dreamy, nostalgic, and sometimes dark and sombre. The work draws on influences from minimalism and jazz, creating a unique contemporary classical experience in the intimate setting of Forsyth's historic music shop.
