Piano Spotlight - Schimmel C116T

The current Schimmel C116T model, complete with the re-designed fron leg and toe.The C116T is Schimmel's best-selling piano, with the current version representing a culmination of several developments and model variants over the years. It has been awarded a Diapason award and is highly regarded for its un-rivalled depth of tone, speaking length and precise action at its price. The 116 model was first introduced in 1993, before Schimmel had a 'Classic' range, as the 116S, or 116 Special. It joined a range which included the ever-popular series of 112 models (of which we currently have a beautiful second hand example in Empire casing), and the larger 118T. Serial numbers around this time chiefly started with 309 as the first 3 digits. The current C116T model first appeared 14 years later in 2007 and had much in common with the C120T. By this time the 116 benefitted from, amongst other things, a fully braced back, giving the piano greater stability and more powerful tone production and dynamic range. The very latest examples also benefit from the more elegant re-designed front leg, which Schimmel recently introduced across the upright range.Today the piano is as popular as ever and we find many of our customers are bowled over by the depth, quality and flexibility of sound of which this piano is capable. The Schimmel-designed Renner action gives precise control over these capabilities, and we have sold C116Ts to many happy customers including piano teachers, piano students, and families. In 2010 it spawned the C114MJ model, first introduced as a celebratory special to mark 125 years of Schimmel Pianos. The C114MJ is identical to the C116T internally but presents itself in a striking modern casework design, and has proved so popular it has become a permanent part of the Schimmel Classic range. The Schimmel C114MJ - offspring of the C116T.In addition to the standard black polyester finish (which we currently have in stock), the C116T is also available in a range of finishes including walnut satin (currently in stock at Forsyths), mahogany polyester and a selection of special casework designs. One very special casework design which has been offered on the C116T is the Art Deco, of which only two have ever come to the UK. We are delighted to have one of them for sale pre-owned now, so if you like the sound of the C116T and would like something that looks a little different, don't miss out on this one!For further information about any Schimmel piano do not hesitate to contact us in the Piano Department here at Forsyths - exclusive Schimmel dealers in the North of England (including Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, Liverpool, and Yorkshire).
