Highlights from this weeks new guitar arrivals

The guitar which caught my eye quickest this week was a rather lovely old Hofner Senator, an early 60s example with a trussrod. We've sold quite a few of these over the year but this is by far the cleanest example we've had. The finish is in great condition looking nice and lustrous, all the parts are original and, best of all for an old Hofner, the neck has never needed a repair. The most obvious wear is to the headstock plate where the lacquer has crazed a little, but I'm still really impressed with it. It's one of the better sounding examples as well - they do vary quite a bit and this one has a nice percussive chime to it. It's a lot of fun!

More new Martins this week - a UK only special edition sapele (a variety of mahogany) topped X series guitars that are a nice addition to the range. We have a Dreadnaught DX1SAE in stock but have sold the 000 model already.

This week's Rickenbacker is a very pretty 620 in Fireglo that caught my eye due to a flamey looking headstock - if you want a 620 that you instantly know is yours it's definitely one to check out.

Lots of Electro Harmonix new arrivals - we have a page for them here which we're gradually populating but in the meantime we have new stock of original Big Muff, Big Muff Pi, Bass Big Muff in standard and deluxe versions, Bass Metaphor, Memory Toy, Memory Boy, Micro Pog, LPB-1, Switchblade +, 360 Looper etc... what I'm basically trying to tell you is we have loads of them. Of particular interest given it's fairy new and the first time we've had one is the 22500 Looper which is aimed at the Boss RC30 market. As something of a loop connoisseur this unit is really impressing me, having all the functionality of the Boss at a lower price point and crucially a second loop channel that can be independent  or locked together. It has a decent enough drum machine as well, and uses SD cards so you can keep one card each for multiple bands, or swap the card between units. It's utterly unfathomable without the manual, but hey, you're not going to fall into that old cliche of men who won't read manuals, are you? Anyway, a great pedal that I've bought for myself and we expect to do well with.
