Learning music is good for you!
For years now, there's been research showing that learning to play a musical instrument has unexpected benefits. Increases in critical thinking, coordination, and emotional maturity are just a few of the non-musical benefits said to be linked to music lessons. However, even for music teachers and musicians, it can be difficult to separate fact from fiction. What exactly are the benefits of music education?
Encore Music Lessons in the USA has created an infographic that helps to clarify these claims. Focusing on piano lessons, the infographic uses visuals and proven facts to demonstrate all the ways learning to play the piano improves your life. This is transferable to any other musical instrument too.
Now more than ever, it's important that we know well the benefits of music education and use this knowledge to argue for it. This infographic is a good tool. Please check it out and share it with your family, friends, students, head teachers and everyone! It's never too early or too late to start!
With thanks to the team at Encore Music Lessons for working on this infographic and sharing it with us.
