The Sonata for Guitar was in part inspired by the concept of the Golden Mean or Divine Proportion, a ratio based on phi. Further reading and research led the composer to some fascinating discoveries that in turn became the basis of the compositional process. Despite this somewhat scientific inspiration, the work is an approachable and often beautiful and atmospheric piece.
