For Solo Viola.
Oxford Contemporary Repertoire.
The work is in one movement and is a meditation on stone and light that begins and ends in stillness. The inner sections contain references to the final Kyrie of an 11th-century Gregorian chant. This version for viola is a transcription of Tann's evocative violin solo, inspired by the interplay of stone and light in the ancient cathedral of Brecon, Wales.
