What would a fiesta be without the “Mexican Hat Dance”! Hot on the heels of our Cowboy Songs from the „wild west“ (BA 8136), this volume introduces novice string ensembles and orchestras to the music of Mexico. Besides the ever-popular La Cucaracha and Cielito Lindo, it offers simple but rhythmically lively renditions of La Perle de Mazatlan, Chiapanecas, La Llorone and Mexico's most popular folk dance, El Jarabe Tapatio. The arrangements are suitable not only for beginning ensemble lessons but also for concert performance. An alternative third violin part can substitute for the viola.
Mexican Hat Dance will be a hit with young string players.
