The Vocal work is demanding and the Piano part more than mere accompaniment, whichkeep these songs alive in the recital repertoire.Composer, pianist, writer and educator Joaquin Turina was born in Seville in 1882 and was active mainly in Spain until his death in 1949. His work is influenced by traditionalAndalusian idioms and he was particularly generous in his attention to songs, dwarfed only by his output of solo Piano music.
