Written by the winner of the Critics’ Circle Young Artist Award 2021 for his ‘compelling and individual’ compositions, Tah Dah! is a joyful fanfare composed for the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain Fellowship Ensemble, and recorded on the NYCGB Young Composers 3 album. Lasting an intense two minutes, its riot of pitched and unpitched voices, of plangent hockets and zesty lip trills rising to a fortissimo conclusion, is also a perfect vehicle for any choir that is confident with extended vocal techniques, and in search of a stunning concert-opener or encore.
