Broadway Reverie
You dont have to go all the way to New York City to be on Broadway. Judy East Wells takes you there in her solo written in the style of great Broadway show tunes. The lyrical melody will be appealing to older students. The accompaniment provides the opportunity to develop a facile left hand by using broken chord patterns that span almost two octaves. Written in A-B-A form, the B section features a thicker texture in the right hand by using root position and first inversion triads, sometimes in ascending patterns. This section serves as an interlude between the two A sections and effectively reinforces the Broadway feel of the piece. Pull up your bench, and enjoy a first class trip to New York City that is right at your fingertips!
