English composer and critic Cyril C. Dalmaine (1904–1986) was born in London and educated at Eastbourne College and the Royal College of Music. He served as music master at Uppington School and chorus master for the BBC. During World War II, Dalmaine was the radio critic for the “Daily Express.” In addition to numerous original compositions (primarily piano suites and chamber music), he published numerous keyboard transcriptions of works by famous composers of early eras.
