Wilms, Johann W - Two Sonatas Op18

Composer, pianist, flutist, teacher – Johann Wilhelm Wilms was a much-admired and highly versatile musician in Amsterdam during the Beethoven era. The present sonatas offer compelling examples of Wilms's imaginative and well-balanced treatment of the flute and piano, the instruments which he himself preferred as a performer. The new edition is based on two early prints which suggest that these pieces, which had unjustly fallen into oblivion, were once very widely disseminated.
