Under Gypsy Skies in six brief movements was co-commissioned and premiered by Charles Geyer and Barbara Butler and the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra. The work is a realization of historic melodic styles and techniques drawn from the music of Liszt, Dvorak, and Brahms. While quotations of orchestral repertoire are used literally, some of the interlude and introductory material was created to be merely stylistic in nature. This version is for two solo trumpets with piano and percussion accompaniment and is scored for studio and recital performances as well as for rehearsal with full orchestra accompaniment (rental-Contact: [email protected], or visit www.alfred.com/rental) and 00-DHM0402C (score only for sale)].
