Taylor, Adrian - Melodic studies on Trombone Technique (Bass Clef)
Catalogue No: TB1045
Like the easier "Simple Studies on Trombone Technique" this book has been composed by a trombonist for trombone students to develop aspects of trombone technique, which are not always the same as for other brass instruments. There are often two studies (one at Intermediate level and the other at Advanced) for each aspect of technique being focussed upon, as well as some preparatory exercises to help develop the skills required. Through using this book the trombone student can develop skills in natural slurring, legato tonguing, use of alternative positions and playing glissandi as well as more generic brass playing skills such as developing clean articulation and developing an open and projected sound. As the title suggests, each study is melodic in character and should be approached in a musical manner and played with a beautiful tone. It has been written for trombone students working towards Grade 4 through to Grade 8.
