Alto Saxophone And Piano
The composer Eduard Pütz (1911-2000) studied composition at the Musikhochschule in Cologne with Heinrich Lemacher, Hermann Schroeder, and Kaspar Roeseling. Later he worked as a teacher of theory at the Rheinische Musikschule in Cologne. His particular interest was in connecting serious with light music.
Jazz Capriccio is a cheerful piece with a composed-out final cadence which, within the meaning of a jazz improvisation, can also be replaced by an improvisation of ones own. A rewarding piece for musicans interested in combining contemporary music with jazz.
