In 1982, Alan Menken and Howard Ashman turned Roger Cormans 1960 cult film The Little Shop of Horrors into a hit Off-Broadway musical. The story of a timid florist who raises a plant that thrives on human flesh, the show won both the Drama Critics Circle Award and the Drama Desk Award for Best Musical. Its songs are a hodgepodge of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop, girl group pop and Motown. Sing thirteen numbers from the beloved musical (which later became a popular film starring Rick Moranis), including Somewhere Thats Green, Skid Row and Suddenly Seymour.
