Though Carlos Santana has been a beloved and respected guitar legend since the 1960s, commercial success eluded him throughout much of the 80s and 90s. Early hits like Evil Ways, Black Magic Woman and Oye Como Va remained staples of rock radio, and his performance at Woodstock was still the stuff of legend, but there was simply no place where his unique blend of rock, jazz and salsa fit within the musical landscape of the time. That all changed in 1999 with the release of Supernatural
, an album that paired Santana with some of the hottest pop stars of the day. This karaoke collection includes Smooth, his duet with Matchbox 20 frontman Rob Thomas from that record, which was a worldwide smash. It also features a collaboration with Everlast and some of his great early hits.
