Inspired by budget brand American guitars of the 60s, but built to our very own specifications, this guitar is a throwback to a different time. If you know, you know.
One of things we love about representing smaller brands such as Gordon Smith is the relationship we have with the company and the people that make the guitars, and it's always a pleasure to kick about ideas with the design team and see what they might have coming up. Occasionally though we go a step further and they let us get involved in designing a model with them from the ground up, and the GS0 Special is the third in the series of Forsyth / GS collaborations.
Inspired by budget brand American guitars of the 1960s, the GS-0 is a bright, brash, uncompromising blues and indie machine that paces and snarls like an angry animal. Eyecatching features such as the no cut body design and short trapeze tailpiece clearly make a visual statement but they also contribute to a guitar with a discernably different personality to the standard Gordon Smith GS, with great sustain from the short stiff neck and tighter feeling bends due to the tailpiece. There may be more versitile guitars out there, sure, but are there any with more personality?
