There's something really nice about a flame maple top on a guitar. It just adds to the je ne sais quoi. It's nice to have a bit of class with the Mexican Fenders, and this is one of the classier ones. There's a very 70s look to this guitar with the headstock logo, but also a 00s thing with the satin finish on the back of the neck - very hot sweaty gigs will not result in stick palms when sliding up and down the neck. You'd be surprised how many customers come into the shop refusing gloss finished backs of necks, and I completely agree. So you get the 70s look and tone with the gloss fingerboard, but more of a 00s feel with the satin neck. A good mix.
So why else should you get this Strat? Well the HSS pickup variety is always great for tonal variety, and who doesn't love switching from a single coil to a lively humbucker at the flick of a switch?
It's a solid Strat, and honestly, that's sometimes just what you need.
