This pretty looking instrument hails from the Czech Republic. There are 7/8 and ¾ options and we sell quite a few 7/8 size versions to adults who appreciate the smaller proportions. It’s made from spruce and oak and unusually for a guitar at this price the top is laminated – in a Far East classical at this level we’d expect solid wood for the top but it’s a tall order to hit this price point in a quality European made instrument. Here’s the thing, though: what it’s made of doesn’t really matter if it sounds good and we really love the sound of this model. It’s loud and punchy with a slight thinness in the bass compared to more expensive instruments but it’s very lively and fun to play.
There’s a lovely feel to this guitar with a great quality of finish, so it looks very impressive as well as sounding good The unusual blond grain of the oak makes it very distinctive in appearance and we much prefer this soft satin look which shows off the timbers very nicely. As a first step up instrument or for an absolute beginner who wants an instrument they can grow into this is a great option with a lot of character.
