With an Oregon pine top and sapele back and sides, this guitar is a high spec version of a beginner's guitar - perfect for those who want to start out with a bit of quality.
Admira are a long running Spanish guitar manufacturer who have been supplying budding young guitarists with their first classical for over 40 years, so it's fair to say they know a fair bit about classical guitars. The Alba represents a departure for the venerable Spaniards in being Chinese rather than Spanish in construction but it's a carefully though out guitar at a price point nolonger achievable with European manufacture so we're not too worried about that.
The Alba, like most low budget guitars, is constructed from laminated woods but the build is relatively light and they're surprisingly resonant, a little quieter perhaps than a solid top guitar but very sweet and pleasant sounding and not as dull as many cheap classics. The fit and finish is excellent as well, and it scores highly for having a comfortable playing action out of the box. They're also pleasingly devoid of ffputting issues that beset cheap guitars such as sharp fret ends, so this is a guitar designed to encourage young players making a start ion the guitar.
Albas are available in 4/4, 3/4 and 1/2 size versions - if you're buying for a small person see our guide to choosing the right size for your child here
A brilliant quality instrument for the beginning classical player. Spanish design and expertise couple with far-eastern manufacturing to give this all-laminate instrument a pleasing tone and easy playability.
With manufacturing carefully controlled in the Far East by Spanish-trained luthiers, the Alba stays true to the purpose set out by its Spanish older sibling 'the Almeria 'and it delivers a great tone bound to enhance the learning of any student or enthusiastic amateur.
