What we say

Eastman only make good guitars. Even here with their budget model, the Pacific Coast Highway guitar is the best place to go for a value for money. You're probably not going to get a hand crafted acoustic for under £350 anywhere else. And they play just as you'd expect any Eastman instrument to play - really damn well!

I think it's important to note that obviously when you're getting a guitar in the sub £500 range generally you're not going to get an all solid wood guitar. In this case that's no different, but we do have a good quality solid sitka spruce top, with laminated sapele back and sides. The finish on top of the guitar is aesthetic - it makes it look a bit lived in, a bit classic. It doesn't affect the sound in any way at all.

We get through a fair few PCH1s at the shop, and they're incredibly popular. They certainly challenge other brands of a similar price bracket very very well. We're well and truly on the Eastman bandwagon, and from their £3,000+ guitars all the way down to these beauties, you get excellent standards.

Dreadnaughts will give you a gigantic sound, and the sitka spruce top gives you a lovely bright tone. Having the rosewood fingerboard too certainly helps with the tone, giving a real classic sound across the board.

This guitar would be perfect for a beginner who wants to get a guitar that will last you for a good few years, but also for the intermediate player that is ready for their first upgrade.

What they say

Beaches, bluffs, blue skies. Along with its near-unequaled beauty, California’s Pacific Coast Highway delivers a completely distinct mix of energy and exciting possibility that we at home simply call PCH. Named after the iconic stretch of road, this guitar is designed to lay out a similar path to start one’s journey - a path on which to roam, to explore, to make the magical possible.
